Who we are

ORTV is the acronym for Overseas Radio and Television (Singapore). Our headquarter, Overseas Radio and Television Inc, is based in Taipei since 1960 as a multi-media non-profit organization to reach out to the Chinese community. Two of its famous ministries are a choral group called Heavenly Melody and a English magazine named Studio Classroom. ORTV Singapore was established in December 1989 with 4 main ministries:

1) Outreach,
2) Resources,
3) Training and
4) Video/audio Production.

What we do (Outreach)

Church Ministries – Partnering with churches in evangelism using creative arts and media resources.Sharing the gospel with the use of performing arts and mass communications are effective ways of evangelism.
Having said so, many churches find it difficult to do such gospel events as it requires a substantial amount of manpower, logistic support and financial resources, especially in the area of programmme preparation. This is where ORTV Singapore comes in.

Community Outreach – Sharing the gospel is every Christian’s commission and ORTV is dedicated to the planning and execution of effective evangelism. Evangelism is not just about preaching the Word but also administering in deeds. Kind and loving gestures serve as a testimony for the Word.
Through caring and serving the people and their community and building a relationship with them,the preparatory work of gospel-sharing is achieved.

Outreach Concert – Outreach concerts jointly organized by ORTV and major denominational and independant churches.
Major concert like Chinese New Year Concert, It started way back in 1995 and since 1996 it had been plans had gone underway to hold it every two years.

What we do (Production)

Audio Resources & Production – ORTV carries the widest range of Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese CDs and audio resources. Please take some time to browse through the various sub-categories: Music CD, Instrumental, Christmas and Others. You will definately be able to find one that is suitable for you. We pray that every product that are shared with you will be a blessing and may it also benefit all pre-believers.

Video Production – Partnering with churches and other mission agencies we stive to provide high quality gospel event coverage gospel audio/video productions as well as corporate video prodcution

Our outreach team

ORTV HHS – The ORTV Heavenly Harmony Singers is part of ORTV Singapore’s music ministries. This team of talented volunteer singers came together toshare the love of God through music and songs presentations. ORTV is a subsidiary of Overseas Radio & Television Inc, Taiwan. The world-renowned Heavenly Melody Singers (who have been performing internationally since 1963) is a ministry arm of the headquarters, ORTV Inc. This group has been the inspiration and mentor for the singing team in Singapore.

ORTV Praise Band – The ORTV Praise Band, formed by a team of talented volunteer musicians since 2001, has been faithfully serving the local churches. This music ministry of ORTV Singapore seeks to share the love of God through music and songs arranged in a lively, contemporary style. The band presents songs in both Mandarin and English to meet the requirments of the churches’ outreach programmes.

ORTV Drama Team – We share the Gospel mainly through the arts (i.e. drama). We also hope that brothers and sisters-in-Christ who have performance experience will step forward to join us. Together, we can present the Gospel through the medium of drama on stage and be a mounthpice for God.

ORTV Support Team – Besides the performance teams, Supporting team is very important during all practices and outreach, where it be sound engineer, stage assistant, lighting control, powerpoint control and many supporting roles.
